So close..

Well, this was a freaking pleasant surprise. A book with an incredibly snarky mother/daughter duo on a hunt for their own (separately mind you, because they are anti- incest. It's on her bumper sticker) Kristen Ashley alpha male? Yes please. I'll admit now that I have an unhealthy obsession with KA.  And an even more unhealthy obsession with my favorite snarky mother/daughter duo...the awesomeness that is the Gilmore Girls.  I apparently share this obsessions with the author, so this book was so close to hitting the nail on the head of awesomeness for me.  It was full of ridiculous humor that was easy and fast to read. I totally dig that. The only thing that really held me back was the ending. It was a bit much for the lightheartedness of the rest of the book.  I'm not talking anything huge, but it still seemed a little out of place for me and brought me down. So, I'm just throwing this out there, but not every book needs to have a twisty ending in it, especially when the rest of the book is good enough without adding in the needless drama.

On that note, I'll leave you with this.

"I thought it was probably best if I didn't go snooping around Wade's room uninvited. These days I would probably find all sorts of whips and chains and ball gags.

And then when I put those down and stopped playing with them, I would probably find something that made me really uncomfortable.”
