A whole lot of meh

Spell of the Highlander - Karen Marie Moning

Cian and Jessi's story in Spell of the Highlander is just another meh book in the series.  It's not great, it's not bad, and it doesn't even have the interesting Fever backstory that really need to have something new thrown in so we aren't reading the same book, but different people over and over again. So, with this being book 7 and there is absolutely nothing new and is about essentially the same drama with virtually the same Highlander is kind of pointless.  The drama that worked in the previous books no longer works anymore. You know that said Highlander isn't going to die, but by God, the not dying is going to drag out for as long as possible so we can see the complete devastation by the Keltar mate until the last minute when she's like Oh My God, he's still alive and now we can live happily ever after with lots 'o babies.  The only perk with this series at this point, is that it's still well written and we still get some additional Fever backstory.

As a side note, I will say that I'd probably be less bitchy if I hadn't read these back to back, but rather as a filler book for when I'm bored and have nothing else that interests me. None of the books within the series are bad, they are just too similar to each other.
